Students from all over the world are encouraged to apply for a Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Pure Mathematics offered by the University of Sydney. This scholarship is aimed at supporting a student pursuing a PhD or within the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science.

Eligibility

  • The following courses or subjects are eligible: PhDs in pure mathematics
  • To be eligible, candidates must meet all the following requirements:
  • Be unconditionally admitted or enrolled in a full-time PhD program at the Faculty of Science
  • Research representation and category theory
  • Have a master’s degree in a related field with a substantial research component, or an honours degree (first class or upper second class)

  • To apply, candidates must be enrolled in the university’s postgraduate research degree programme. The application form must be completed online.

Benefits

Students will receive an annual stipend equivalent to the minimum RTP rates (indexed on the first of each year) for up to three years, provided they perform satisfactorily academically.
